Well, I can't enter my own contest... but if I could...
Standard Take-off speed is around 100mph. For a little quicker take-off, rock the plane forward slightly, then pull hard back around 80mph.
Landing is tricky. Your approach has to be shallow, and you want to aim for about 100mph on touchdown, with your floats nearly level. Takes a little practice, but will land perfectly every time once you've got the hang of it.
