History
The Ya-11 is an experimental fighter developed by the prestigious builder Yakovlev to compete in the intercept and frontal fighter competition of the Soviet air force in 1955. Unfortunately the design was rejected by an excellent Mig-17. The high cost of development and the use of short-range missiles were not sufficient arguments to tip the balance. Despite a lower maneuverability and more weight than its competitor, the plane is a dangerous adversary and therefore was built in short numbers in secret.
