introduction

After the capitulation of France in 1940, the Sud-Ouest design team continued to work on the Groupe Technique de Cannes, founded in May 1941 in Cannes. Here it was possible to design and build several aircraft, two of which were put into production after the end of the war.
The first was the Sud-Ouest S.O.30N Bellatrix medium passenger aircraft with an onboard F-BALY, the prototype was ready in November 1942. However, the German-Italian commission that controlled the production of aviation equipment in France banned its flight tests. Work resumed only after the liberation of France. The car stored in the warehouse was reassembled and on February 26, 1945, it finally took off. The tests were conducted by SNCASO Chief Pilot Daniel Rastel. The aircraft developed a speed of up to 480 km / h and was designed to carry 23 passengers and 1200 kg of cargo.
