The Alex Hirton Type 5 (or AH.V) is a unique 1960s american kit microlight. It prioritised being easy to build over being easy to fly. around 400 plans were sold with around 350 being registered around the world. they were sold from 1965 to 1971 when it was pulled from the market due to low sales compared to the AH.IV. this one reg G-AMSH was built in 1967 (photo 3) and first flew on January 9th 1968. (the other photos are, No.1, it flying over Maywar during an airshow in 1989 and No.2 it taking off from Bandit in 2012). they were know to be somewhat tricky to fly and have a stall speed of about 22mph and a tendency to rock and roll at speeds above 45mph. I hope you Enjoy!
