Night Hopper
For transport challenge.
"Good day sirs and madams, and all other good folks. It seems we need to get project 01 to the enemy base ASAP. for this purpose we'll be utilzing the experimental VTOL transport code name: Night Hopper. You will have to be careful and not get off track, as engineers have carefully calculated the fuel needed for the mission, with 10-15% to spare at the end. This is a non-combat mission, avoid enemies and use the countermeasures wisely."
AG 1: activates engine 2 (center blue light blink to let you know its on).
AG 2: detaches wing tanks
AG: 3: detaches cargo (big box)
AG 4: parachutes for cargo (big box) if things get harry.
Countermeasures: normal
Throttle: Main engine and engine 2 once turned on.
VTOL: controls VTOL nozzle
Trim: lean forward/back/trim using gyro
Takeoff: will takeoff when engine 2 (AG 2) is activated at 100% throttle, should hover at 30-40% if your careful; use trim to adjust.
Travel: alternate Engine 2 on/off in flight to maximize fuel savings. If VTOL angled for forward flight, you will need to trim up quite a lot to stabilize. With only main engine running, 80-100% throttle, VTOL 70-80% full forward, and Trim about 40% at 3000-4000 ft altitude gives best range, though pretty slow.
Landing: Will VTOL land with practice, (normal aircraft taxiing with cargo on is tough). switch engine 2 on, stabilize and gradually throttle down to land. should be at around 30-40% to descend, little bit of power just before touch down. Prone to loosing rear wheel if you hit to hard.
