Chimera IIIO (R.A.A.F) V.2
Same aircraft as the predecessor but with an improved flight model. Nose down pitch was caused by a rotational force of lift generated by the unbalanced nature of delta wing configuration. The effect was countered with a opposing rotational force through the lateral axis with the displacement of the CoG and the CoT along the normal axis.
Without a payload, the fighter aircraft flies straight and level at 500mph at sea level
Thank you to BogdanX for the input on improvements of the previous model.
Predecessor description:
The Chimera IIIO is a third generation, multirole fighter designed to bring Australia into the supersonic era of air combat. The delta wing fighter was built during a time of technological advancment in military aviation, however Fly-By-Wire methods of control had not yet been developed. This makes the natural instability given by the wing design very prominant qnd made the aircraft difficult to control. Despite this, in the right hands, the fighter was very capable in both air to air and air to ground combat.
Activation groups:
- AG1: Nav lights
- AG2: Anti collision lights
- AG4: A/G, Fuel and MRM stores jettison
- AG5: Drag Chute
This is a fix of the second build of a small series of fictional aircraft inspired by Australian military aircraft designs. The following aircraft will be used as inspiration for design over the next 3 weeks:
- Avro Lancaster (maybe)
- CAC Boomerang
- Gloster Meteor
- F-86F Sabre
- Mirage IIIO
- F-111C Aardvark (maybe)
- F/A-18A+ Hornet
- F/A-18F Super Hornet
- F-35A Lightning II (JSF)
Note: The order of which the builds are released is independent of the introduction date of each aircraft.
Hope You guys like the build, if you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments, I would love to hear them!
