The most important thing about installing this correctly is to not to disturb the junction where the red beam connects to black / gray / orange / parts. Once installed and you verify it's working by pressing 2 (NOTE pressing 5 will turn it OFF), then you can trim down the red beam. Sorry it's a tricky piece of hardware, it even gives me fits.

For some wierd reason pressing 5 will turn off cannon. You still need 2 to activate it but don't press 5. There's some really weird programming in the Canon aiming system itself I did not want to mess with.
