The McDonnell Douglas MD-11 is a three-engined, long-range wide-body aircraft. Produced by McDonnell Douglas , and later by Boeing . This aircraft is able to accommodate more passengers than the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 , but unfortunately its performance is far below the DC-10 aircraft. The difference with the DC-10 is that it has a fully digital cockpit, so it only requires 2 cockpit crew compared to the DC 10 which requires 3 crew (the MD-11 eliminates the air mechanic function).
