M9 Sighthound
The M9 Sighthound is a Paternian armored car designed by Rodmantown Industries. Designed in 1942 and originally armed with a 37mm anti-tank gun in a conical open-topped turret, with a .30 caliber M1919 coaxial and .50 caliber M2HB pintle mount. In the Paternia Wars, it served admirably as a reconnaissance vehicle for cavalry units; while lacking in off-road ability and armor, it's weapons were more than enough to deal with Confederate tankettes and light tanks, and was very mobile on roads. The Sighthound continued to serve into the 1960's in active Paternian service, replaced by the Commando series of armored cars. The last machines would be retired by National Guard units in the 1980's. Unarmed examples would serve as battering rams for National Gendarme units until 2001, when the machine was replaced by a Commando-based ram due to parts shortages. This particular example is a modernized example in Paternian service, fitted with a standard Medium Weapons High-Angle turret with a 60mm breech-loading mortar and coaxial 7.62mm M60E2, as well as spaced armor panels in order to counter HEAT projectiles encountered in increasing numbers.
