The LaGG-3-2 VRD was a prototype fighter based off of the LaGG-3. The purpose was to investigate the use of ramjets to boost fighter performance. In August 1942, a pair of ramjets, designed by M. M. Bondaryuk, were attached under the wings of LaGG-3 fighter No 31213173 which was later designated LaGG-3-2 VRD. Test pilot Captain Mishenko made 14 successful flights in the airplane. Although the results were indifferent, it provided a backround of data for later ramjet work. Give a shout out to IStoleYourMeMe for making an acceptible LaGG-3 for modifying. AG-1 for ramjets.
