Do you hear that? That is the collective groan of every Paternian Motorized Reconnaissance vehicle crewman who had to do anything with this machine. The M121 Seeker is a Paternian scout car, developed by KRIEG as a light reconnaissance vehicle based off the excellent M108 Jeep. In 1957, the Paternian Army wanted a new reconnaissance car, and the choice came between two entries; this and an entry by Bandit-PDI, known as the Beagle. Despite the clear advantages offered by the Beagle, it was rejected in favor over the Seeker because of the high degree of parts commonality it has with the M108 Jeep. Almost immediately, the vehicles were highly unpopular due to frequent breakdowns due to an overstressed drive train. Despite the defects, politics kept it in service over the superior Beagle. Despite that, the Beagle was adopted by the Paternian Marine Corps. In the 1961 Invasion of Gabon, the Seeker performed poorly. It's armor was light, armament wasn't very good, and the mobility was hampered by its top-heavy and overweight nature. An emergency effort to reequip units with the Beagle was undertaken. In the meantime, units often resorted to using armed jeeps. While having even worse protection, it was just as well armed and was more mobile. The Seeker was passed onto internal security units and convoy protection, where it served adequately.
