The nav cast an eye over the distinctive-looking jet from the back of the Buccaneer. It was painted light grey with bold red, white and blue American national insignia on the intakes and, in case there was any doubt, 'U.S. Air Force' painted in tall, black capital letters down the fuselage. The look was finished off with lightning bolts on the triangular tail. Carl Davis was struck by how mean and purposeful the Deuce looked.
