Some of the information is acording to a friend of mine wich this is their favorite dinosaur.
Description:
The Acrocanthosaurus Atokensis was a big theropod dinosaur non-avian that lived during the Aptian and Albian in the Early Cretaceous, 113 to 110 million years ago. It's name means "high-spined lizard", it was the apex predator of it's time, It was unique for being different from the other carcharodontosaurids for having almost a binocular vision and a powerfult bite of 4.5 tons of force that most of the carcharodontosaurids didn't have, capable of breaking bones. It's unknow if it's sail/ hump function was for thermoregulation or fat storage.
- Superfamily: Allosauroidea
- Family: Carcharodontosauridae
- Subfamily: Not specified
- Tribe: Not specified
Evolution:
Acrocanthoasurus was a primitive carcharodontosaurid that lived in the early cretaceous, which means that it may have been an intermediate between the Allosaurids and the Carcharodontosaurids, Possibly that's why Acrocanthosaurus is different compared to other carcharodontosaurids known as Giganotosaurus, Mapusaurus and Carcharodontosaurus
Interesting/Fun facts:
- It's skull was more like an allosaurus than a carcharodontosaurid
- Acrocanthosaurus wasn't fast, but it's prey was even slower
- As I said, Acrocanthosaurus had a powerful bite that could break bones and almost a binocular vision wich is kinda similar to some tyrannosaurids, but that doesn't mean Acrocanthosaurus and Tyrannosaurids were related.
- In the state of Texas, different spots with dinosaur footprints have been found, the footprints belong to a sauropod and a theropod, and because of it's time, it is believed that it was a scene of an Acrocanthosaurus hunting a sauropod
- Despite being smaller compared with Giganotosaurus and Tyrannosaurus, it was specialized in hunting large sauropods, and these were their main source of food.
- In 2005, an endocast of the brain of Acrocanthosaurus was made, and scientists realized that the brain looked more like that of Giganotosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus than Allosaurus, this reinforces that Acrocanthosaurus is a Carcharodontosaurid

Acrocanthosaurus weight is around 5.7 - 6.2 tons, not 7.1, I forgot to reduce it's weight! 😅

Excellent work
This guy knows his dinosaur's.
it's amazing how people are able to make such detailed animals in a game about planes
We really need the big ahh Spinosaurus, not actually a request but hope you make it sometime soon
here before the mouse
