This aircraft was built as a high speed reconaissance plane by infamous aircraft designer Howard Hughes, it was a simple twin tail boom design similar to his Fighter-Bomber design the D-2, this aircraft did fly but during mid-flight the propellar drive gears "reversed" causing a uncontrolable descent into Beverly Hills, California, though it was rebuilt and in 1947 it had a succesful flight, the F-11 program was highly controversial and actually caused the US Senate to investigate the F-11 and H-4 Hercules
