Piper AirKnight Delta Airlines
Background:
The Piper AirKnight was born out of a contest set out by Delta Airlines to multiple companies who specialize in small, recreational aircraft, hoping to accomplish what large scale companies couldn’t achieve... low capacity: high comfort. This was Piper’s entry to the contest. A twin engine, standard body airliner, with the looks of standard airliner, except for the nose, which held advanced avionics and featured a new, fully automated flight control. Which would handle the taxiing, takeoff, flight, and landing of the aircraft. Unfortunately, the price tag was just a little too much for Delta and the AirKnight lost to Beech’s entry.
Well... this took a while. Sorry I took forever. I tried experimenting with a lot of new ideas on this aircraft (some of them almost didn’t suck), including... FLAPS! Although, they are just for looks...
ENJOY!!!
