No problem!
yay!! sounds awesome i cant wait to see it. thank you!!! @JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
So I just simply re-did the front, adding large windows, and I also completely redesigned the wings and the tail surfaces. All I can say is that it's got incredible STOL capabilities now. I'm almost done with it, and I'll release it sometime later on unlisted and tag you on it's post. I also added more flares for defense, and it's going to come with a missile defense system.
i think maybe just a redesigned front is fine. i know doing a whole cockpit is a huge deal. now that im on pc a bit i can try to do the cockpit again after you redo the front. ive gotten so used to using the ipad interface its taking time to get used to pc for me , thanks again for any help you are willing to give me :-) @JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
Since winter break just started, I've began work on your Goliath aircraft. So, do you want a detailed cockpit with inside views or are you fine with just a redesigned front section with windows only?
@Texasfam04
No problem!
Every flying aircraft carrier concept I've seen has always been some radical concept like the P-1112 Aigaion or the Avengers Helicarrier.
Best way to describe how my flying carrier will be: It's going to be a conventional layout like a C-130 or H-4, it will be a flying boat (have a boat hull since it's too big for runways), it will have an H-tail/split-tail, and it will have an opening at the rear, sort of like a cargo ramp except it acts like a runway extension for fighters to land inside. There will be no opening in the front. It's LITERALLY a giant flying boat cargo plane except instead of cargo, fighters land inside of it. It will also be powered by 8 Lycoming XR-7750-style engines with countra-rotating propellers. I'm really curious to see if this thing will even lift off the ground. But before I start on that I'd like to finish your Goliath revision and finish my interceptor project.
Edit: Found a concept that looks almost exactly to what I'm aiming for. Although the engines will be mounted differently on my design.
@JohnnyBoythePilot , ive found a few also but the one thing in common with all so far is theyre all unrealistic. Long skinny planes with massive wings. LOL! Thats kinda why i was aiming for a USABLE large plane that can be used for different missions. thanks again for your help, even if it doesnt get done for whatever reason i appreciate you doing this.
@Texasfam04
Yea I've found 2 planes:
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/7RIbMO/Biggest-Plane-in-SimplePlanes
https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/f5QM8K/Do-400-D-Posiedon
The Do-400 is more realistic than the other one. Trying to see some of the big birds of Simpleplanes because I plan on making a huge flying aircraft carrier. It's gonna look like a supersized H-4 "Spruce Goose".
sorry i meant to reply abt the plane. no but i would love to know. ive seen planes with stupidly long wings but thats so unrealistic ive never downloaded them@JohnnyBoythePilot
awesome! thank you so much! i have had alot of trouble with wing fuselage covers. they seem to always throw the balance of the plane off and cause a slow roll. this will be fun and a good learning lesson :-) @JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
Oh ok thats good. Then I'll put high-detail in the Goliath slight re-design of mine. And your welcome!
It is a really nice cargo plane. Although the cargo doors are kinda floppy so I'm redoing those, and I think the wings for the size of the plane are too thin. I'm still keeping the wings on but I'm going to make the wing fuselage panels bigger so the wing actually looks like it could support such a large aircraft in flight. I think I'm going to use the default landing gear because of the amount of wheels that are need to support this on the ground. The engines seem fine in the place they're in.
Btw do you know what the biggest plane is in Simpleplanes at the moment?
no rush , im just glad you are willing to help with the build. even if it takes months, i uploaded it as is so i could find someone willing to help with the project. i think it has great potential to be one of the largest usable cargo planes uploaded @JohnnyBoythePilot
it runs really well actually. im using a ipad mini 4, it runs the goliath fine when in play mode but i think theres a glitch in the app when in build mode with a large plane like that. if i needed to undo anything it would crash. but in play mode its super smooth @JohnnyBoythePilot
One other question: How well does your tablet handle high-detailed airplanes? Does it handle my C7 Samson well? If it lags to much from the detail I'll just make things more simple on your Goliath.
@Texasfam04
Ok then! But it will take awhile maybe up to a week at least.
If you are up to it why dont we make this a long term project then? I think s reshape of front would be good or behind that glass in the front is where i thought a deck could go. I think doing whatever you think you want to make it better is a great idea. @JohnnyBoythePilot
@Texasfam04
Ok so I build a flight deck forward of where the nose seems cut-off? Or do I reshape the front a bit to fit a flight deck? And do you want me to just create cockpit windows for the sake of simplicity or go all out and create a detailed cockpit? Heck I can do some real major re-designs to this bird if you want.(although it would take awhile as I have other things in life going on)
Thanks for checking it out. Originally, the idea was to build a flight deck or command center in there and possibly repshape the front while keeping the front bay door intact. You did fantastic on your new big plane so anything you feel can improve or make this better i think is a good idea. Thanks again for checking it out. The size of the 10 length blocks was really challenging for me mainly because my ipad kept freezing or crashing once i started working on the front @JohnnyBoythePilot
So you want me to create the flight deck for this monster?
Thank You guys for the upvotes @TMach5 @Zombojosh69 @Connster3
Nice!
Np @Texasfam04
mine as well :-) @Maximis
@Texasfam04 yeah, i can see that xD
