HC-16-100 Marliner
HC-16 Marliner is the short-to-mid range, rear-mounted, twinjet airliner at the same class of DC-9.
"Wait, you said this is a twinjet airliner... but, how come jet engines are missing? Where is the jet engine placed?"
Okay, HC-16 Marliner design is an unique design aswell where those engine placed. Both of HC-16's engine is placed in the rear of the fuselage with S-Duct configuration and behind the unusual design there is some reasons. First, the reason is for reducing drag (although actually it just slightly reduces lol) instead of conventional exterior placed rear-mounted twinjet. Second, if one of the engines had a failure in mid-flight or although you just turn on engine for the entire flight, the aircraft is still almost perfectly balanced even the autopilot isn't deployed. The HC-16 model depicted is the -100 model, capable up to 80 pax and oftenly used for short-ranged flight though actually this model was also capable for mid-range flights. The design was inspired such as from some twin-engined fighter jets (because the engine placing), the US Trijet Trinity (B727, DC-10, L-1011) and as main inspiration is DC-9 but with modern style cockpit windshield.
Controls :
AG.1 = Left engine/engine #1
AG.2 = Right engine/engine #2
(Note : you can perform engine failure simulation even perform gliding with this config)
AG.6 = Turn on navigation lights (beacon and signal light)
AG.7 = Turn on interior lights
(Note : the exterior view of interior light looks strange in the day flight lol, but in when in the night flight with AG.7 turned on along with AG.6, it looks gorgeous:) )
VTOL = Flaps
Trim = Adjust flaps and tail stabilator
