Ornithopter
A working mechanical bird! No engines, no fuel. Flies by flapping!
Can actually climb and maintain powered flight at a forward speed of around 80mph! Functioning pitch, yaw and roll controls.
TO USE: Start at one of the final approach locations and slide the VTOL slider all the way up to put the wings into the power position. Back off the VTOL slider for soaring.
PC: Use the brake (I have it bound to spacebar for convenience) to flap.
MOBILE: Swipe down on the left stick to flap.
Finding a good rhythm is a bit tricky, but it gets easier with a little practice. And you've got plenty of time, because in theory this aircraft could fly forever.
NOTES:
• Please excuse the lack of landing gear. I really can't spare any weight. Maybe in a later version.?
• Never tested on anything other than high physics/graphics, so YMMV on lower settings.
• Occasionally a wing falls off if you flap too erratically. To stop this from happening, chill the fuck out.
