Design: The OB1D “killdeer” was designed as a relacement to obsolete two seat spotting seaplanes in the Kithian navy. Using new navigation and radio technology, a single pilot is able to effectively perform the duty of what previously requieres two crew members. A remote controlled gun turrent was originally intended to be fitted in the aircraft, however the issue of pilot workload and technological limits made this concept abandoned. The OB1D designation is made of two parts, OB stand for observation and 1D represents the first aircraft the Dacretia aircraft company manufactued in this role. This specific aircraft is numbered LC-42 designate it as aircraft two on board the light cruiser L4.
