Production began in May 1940, and due to the lessons learned from the French campaign, the artillery used 50mm guns. However, about one-third of the Type 3 G still had 37mm guns installed. Due to the narrow field of view in the cockpit, a two-piece driver observation window is used. A total of about 450 units of the Type 3 G were produced, which is basically no different from the Type F except for the turret.
Part of the G-type was sent to the North African battlefield with an expanded radiator to improve work efficiency and adapt to the hot local environment.
