British Atomic Bombs 1/1 scale
For use on your planes!
LEFT-RIGHT: Blue Danube, Red Beard, Yellow Sun and We.177
Blue Danube AKA 'smallboy'
This weapon was the first operational British nuclear device,
It was the first primary weapon of the V-force (Vulcan, Victor and Valliant) before better weapons became available.
Whilst the bomb is huge it was designed to be the smallest possible nuke at the time (it was designed just after WW2)
It went into service with the RAF in 1953 and was retired completely by 1962
The fins extended when the bomb was clear of the bomb bay and this is modelled here, throttle to 100% and press 7
The yield was similar to the bombs used by the US in WWII
Red Beard
This much smaller bomb was able to be carried by Canberras, Buccaneers, Sea Vixens, and Scimitars as well as the three V bombers it was replaced by WE.177 in the early 70s
Yellow Sun
This was Britain's first thermonuclear device and it was designed to be dropped by the V bombers. The flat nose of the bomb is to slow its decent to allow the bomber to get as far from ground zero as possible before detonation.
WE.177
This tactical nuke was in service from the late 60s until the Blackburn buccaneer was retired in the 90s
It is designed to be dropped from a lower altitude than the others so has a parachute [AG7] to slow its fall.

@PlanesOfOld
With the overload mod, I’m pretty sure that you can change the explosive multiplier or something like that
@PlanesOfOld atomic bombs you say? I wonder what will happen...presses big red button
We do drop them from a Swordfish
@AWESOMENESS360 Thankyou! I didn't want them to have big part counts so I Didn't go overboard with detailing, I just stopped once they looked like the real thing.
These are really nice, they look pretty close to their real-life counterparts, and I like how they're 1:1 scale too!
@LOWEWAYY Unfortunately we cant change explosion power in the game, if we could then I would make them so they had an approximately accurate yield. They are mostly just for looks so you can put them on your planes.
Soo they have that power?
