The Shanghai S-1 “Huoyan Shizhe” (Fire Bringer) Is a chinese made Close air support aircraft designed by Teiyang Wu. Entering service with the PLAAF in 2009, its seen combat in the 2022 Invasion of Ukraine, and the Israeli war on Hamas. It is currently in service with the PLAAF, the North Korean army air force, and the Russian air force. Over 2,000 have been made (including the YS-1 civillian variant). The S-1 is slated for retirement in 2030 in favor of the Shanghai S-3. The S-1 Features a range of ~1000nm, a service ceiling of 20,000ft, and a loiter time of up to 5 hours.
