F/A-18F Super Hornet V2.6
McDonnell Douglas F/A-18F Super Hornet
For SimplePlanes
Country of Origin: United States
Role: Multirole Fighter
Crew: 2
Livery: Special US Navy VFA-2 “Bounty Hunters” (High-Vis)
While it shares the same designation as its predecessor, the F/A-18C/D, the F/A-18F Super Hornet is practically a new aircraft. Affectionately nicknamed the “Rhino,” it has a larger airframe, active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, increased payload, improved avionics, and a reduced radar cross section. The F/A-18F is a versatile aircraft, being able to not only effectively engage air and ground targets, but also act as an aerial refueling tanker and conduct reconaissance operations. Another variant of the F/A-18F, the EA-18G Growler, is also capable of electronic warfare.
The United States Navy is the primary operator of the F/A-18F, but it is also in use by Australia and Kuwait and Germany, Malaysia, Spain, Switzerland, and India are considering purchasing the F/A-18F as a replacement for older airframes. Read more...

Author's Notes
- Fuel and gun ammo is unlimited.
- On takeoff from runways, I recommend 50% flaps with 50% trim. Get to around 300 km/h and give slight taps for the pitch to avoid tail striking. (For keyboard users) From the carrier, use 100% flaps.
- On landing, use the trim to achieve your glide slope and adjust using pitch. (For keyboard users)
- Overpitch allows for cobra maneuver, and with some practice, kulbit maneuvers(ish). This is easier if you release the munitions.
Weapons Changelog

@ReinMcDeer I did that correctly but still can't landing on the carrier. But when i did landing on a regular runway it works.
Only landing it on the carrier just something like almost impossible.
@WolfHunter9111 You're probably descending too quickly. Use the VTOL slider to get your glide slope and adjust with taps of pitch.
The plane cannot landing in the carrier. The landing gear always exploded
Hey ReinMcDeer, I'm up for commission or help if you need help with anything!
@DeveloperKorzalerke goin for the DCS vibe :v
I'm glad you clarified this, i was seconds away from requesting one of these for my air force, thanks for the disclaimer!
@ReinMcDeer Yeah, I heard about the energy issues with both the legacy Hornet and the „Rhino“. Apparently, maneuvering (bfm, acm) loses the Hornet a lot of energy which it has a hard time regaining in comparison with other fighters. Thanks for being open to discussion, though!
@ReinMcDeer
then again the f is a 2 seater, and who doesn't love 2 seat fighters?
@ZeroWithSlashedO I feel like its 50/50. Personally, I like the F, but that's only because that's the one I grew up seeing more of. COUGH COUGH BATTLEFIELD 3 COUGH COUGH
This is really neat
o-O Fascinating.
@ReinMcDeer
I haven't downloaded it but I think I will when I make a super hornet :)
also is it just me or does the f feels like it's more popular than the e?
@ZeroWithSlashedO Hope you found the inlet technique useful :)
@Krikkit42 The engine power is correct and the drag points is already quite low.
It should take a while to get to mach because the hornet isn't the best in terms of energy addition.
I'll take a look though.
Deer Sir, I adore your builds! This is yet another example of a near-perfect simple plane. I’m also a great fan of the numerous alternate loadouts.
One little thing had me wondering while maneuvering: It seems like the main engines might be a wee bit underpowered. I realize that a fully loaded Foxtrott Super Hornet is not gonna go supersonic at sea level with three drop tanks. However, even when the entire combat load (default version) is jettisoned, it takes the plane a significant while to get to, and then above Mach 1 at, say, 20,000 ft. Is this intentional or would you care to revise the thrust in order to give it a little more oomph?
Again: not a major point of criticism, just nitpicking. ;-)
Cheers
Hooray!!!
how do you make simple but good looking stuff everytime
this is cool
updoot
nice super hornet
maybe a f35c next?
