Volotok VC-600
Description
Cubana de Aviacíon IL-96-300.
The Ilyushin IL-96 (Russian: ??????? ??-96) is a long-range transport aircraft manufactured by Ilyushin. It is operated primarily in Russia and Asia, as well as in Cuba, where it is operated by Cubana de Aviacíon.
History
Aeroflot Il-96-300
Following the failure of the Il-86, Ilyushin decided in the mid-1980s to embark once again on the development of a four-engine wide-body, this time trying to make up for the mistakes made with the Il-86.
The Ilyushin Il-96 is a short, long-range aircraft with an advanced level of technological development compared to the first wide-body aircraft produced by Russia, the Ilyushin Il-86. It has supercritical wings equipped with winglets, a glass cockpit and a fly-by-wire control system.
The IL base-96-300 is equipped with modern Russian avionics integrating six multi-function Color LCD Displays, inertial and satellite navigation systems, and a Traffic Collision Avoidance System/TCAS (including "S" mode). It allows the aircraft to be operated with two crew members. The avionics meet modern requirements on international routes in Europe and North America (RNP-1) and allow navigation and landing in severe conditions.
The Il-96 is offered in three main variants: the Il-96-300, Il-96M/T and Il-96-400.
