AMA F-77D Panther
Designer: ATLAS MILITARY AVIATION
Year of Introduction: 1979
Role: Single seat multi role fighter
The F-77D was designed as a replacement for the increasing obsolete TF-460 Timberwolf. The F-77 was originally intended to be an interceptor, but the TF-461 Sabrewolf's design proved to be superior to F-77 in that role. In 1981, 200 F-77s would be produced, ranging from the Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta variants. Later on the F-77 would be replaced by the TF-460A variant of the Timberwolf. In 1991 1.4 thousand F-77Ds were built for client nations but as aircraft development improved, the F-77 was already obsolete resulting in them being put in storage. It is considered to be one of the uglier aircraft produced by ATLAS.
