Tupolev Tu-124 VTOL
Uses intakes from Beta 1.5
And the crasiest thing made of my Tu-124 regional liner model - VTOL version))) Soviet VTOL business jet))). Not completely fictional - such a thing based on Tu-124 was discussed for military use, government transport and regional lines to heliports if no airport available, Of course the discussion went nowhere, so this particular model is my fantasy, not made from at least a preliminary drawings. Actually they planned to add small vertical jets for VTOL, not make main engines rotate.
Controlls:
G - Landing gear;
Stabilizer (pitch adjustment) is adjustable with trim slider. normally about 1/4 up in level flight, but depends on speed, altitude and thrust. When AG1 activated - also works slightly in VTOL mode, but move slowly, controlled by small vertical jet in the nose, it responds slowly.
AG1 - VTOL - UP for vertical flight, dont deactivate it in VTOL mode - it also turns on the thrusters, O - for level flight. At 90-100% fuel needs around 85% thrust to hold height, but sucks fuel fast - and becomes lighter, thus less thrust required.
AG2 - Flaps; (0% = Flaps retracted, 100% DOWN = Flaps deployed)
AG3 - Spoilers (= Airbrakes, 100% UP = Deployed, 0% = Retracted, i added a compensating mechanism to the stabiliser, but still tends to pitch up the plane a bit, use on approach with partial deployment or after touch down with full deployment)
AG6 - Landing lights;
AG7 - Nav. Lights;
AG8 - Ground steering (sensitivity adjustment, when active - steers to the limit, when deactivated - steers 5 degrees, deactivate on takeoffs and landing, activate for ground maneuvers only)
It can fly, takeoff and land like a conventional plane: VTOL slider at 0, AG1 deactivated
Normal operations:
Take off procedure - Trim 1/2 up, flaps 1/2 down, full thrust
Landing procedure - Full flaps, trim ~ 60% up, 60% thrust with full flaps. Be careful with spoilers on landing, they pitch up the plane (surprisingly, that was an issue in real life, more modern planes compensate that automatically with stabilizer adjustment)
VTOL operations:
Q-E - for steering
A-D - for roll - but it doesnt turn the plane in VTOL - more tents to strafe it.
Takes off at 90%, holds height at ~85% hoever, as fuel level drops - becomes really lighter an needs less thrust.
Unfortunately - it is not easy to control in VTOL, however, i was able to land on USS Beast and FLY into hangar.
Said to be working on mobile devices. From my experince - almost a sldeshow on a phone, somewhat playable at Samsung Tab. less

Thx great plane
@Lightflight i made a 4 engined before) i can upload it. Btw, i recommend downloading gyrocockpit mod, it makes it a lot easier to control, i can also upload a version for the mod
Amazing plane can you make another one like it is so cool
@Himynameiswalrus I did it on a destroyer))) but with GyroCockpit mod, it makes it A LOT easier to fly)
No worries, it's alright! @vonhubert
@KINTARO would like to, but i'm afraid no way. to much functional parts, i wasn t able to simplify it enough
Mobile friendly please?
@vonhubert lol
@Himynameiswalrus i tried destroyer - it's hardly possible))) Flight deck is same width as landing gear))
and cool about landing on the beast with that! I just landed on a destroyer with Jims P.I.T.S, by Insertname
oh my god....
