On the afternoon of February 20 local time (in the early morning of February 21 Beijing time), United Airlines flight UA328, which was flown by Boeing 777, took off from Denver International Airport to Hawaii. Unexpectedly, the right side engine exploded shortly after takeoff, causing serious damage to the engine, and nearly all the fairings were blown off. The plane will return to the ground 25 minutes after takeoff.
It is understood that the aircraft in question is a Boeing 777-200 with registration number N772UA. It was delivered in September 1995 and is the fifth Boeing 777 manufactured by Boeing, with an age of 26.3 years. The two engines of the aircraft are Pratt&Whitney PW4000 engines.
