EGV-2 Seabird

54.3k ElGatoVolador  8.0 years ago

The EGV-2 Seabird was made to be used as a recon or fighter seaplane. Original production asked for a inline cowled engine, and 1 gun located in the wing to not interfere with the propeller, and floats. After a few test flights the inline engine was too weak to provide a good takeoff for the airplane, so some 6 cylinder radial engines were used to improve the plane and the results were spectacular with a 50mph added and the ability to carry more weight. The airplane now had 2 7.7 machine guns synchronized to fire trough the propeller, the body was also remade to house the new engine.
