Line Backer
I had a go at making a 'swing wing' aircraft and this is what I came up with.
I called it the 'Line Backer' because the areas covering the wing root look a little like the shoulder pads on an American Football player (NFL?).
It is heavily influenced by one of my favorite aircraft, the F-111.
The wings only sweep back to 45 degrees.
This is a bomber more than anything else, as proven by the weapons it carries.
It does have a couple of air to air weapons, but you will have to be very good to make a kill with them.
Flies ok, but you have to fly it pretty much all the time.
It has a few issues and likes to fly down, which is much better than wanting to flip all over the place.
If it gets out of control, throttle right back, sweep the wings all the way back and wait until it becomes stable. It will end up pointing down, like a lawn dart.
At that point, sweep the wings forward, throttle up and hope you are still up high enough to pull out.
A little XML stuff, no special fuel tank on this, but the Air to Ground stuff has been tweaked a bit and the black nose cone is very heavy.

I'm going to experiment with this airframe, so do not be surprised to see this with engines that will seem out of place. heh
EDIT: Try different wing positions for different aircraft behaviour.
