P-44 Flying Fish

Auto Credit Based on JB56's P-2002 Longhorn

The P-44 Flying Fish is a blend of the classic rugged lines from a Grumman F4f windcat fighter and a streamlined nose of an inline engine, in this case the legendary Allison V1710. due to the change in engine the fusalage was narrowed down and lengthened, and the classic grumman hand crank landing gear carrage had to be changed so it folded from the wing and not the fusalage. The 4 Browning M2 .50 caliber machine guns have retained thier layout from the Wildcat, being in pairs out on the wings. Two radiators have been put in, one under each wing for engine water cooling. A pair of landing flaps, controled by the VTOL slider, help set the Flying Fish down on even the smallest of carrier decks like the USS Tiny. The cockpit is fully detailed instead of using a cockpit block. enjoy!
