Archer F1A Swing Wing Challenge

817 GotovoYaTut  2.1 years ago
Auto Credit Based on HuskyDynamics01's [CLOSED] Swing Wing Challenge

I haven't finalized the project, I'm lazy and tired. I did it for 3 days))) Button 1 activation of the controlled thrust vector.

Please don't hit me on the head, I'm a beginner. (You can beat my hands, they are crooked)
The cockpit is empty, there are no decorative elements, the flight characteristics are terrible, in short it is better not to touch it.

@GotovoYaTut Yes. Semi-symmetric and Flat Bottom airfoil (wing type) should be used for main wings, and symmetric for control surfaces. Flat bottom generates the most lift and has good stall characteristics. Semi symmetric is similar.

@shibusu thanks for the advice, I will take it into account in the future. And the types of wings here then have a function?

@GotovoYaTut Hello! The aircraft appears to be lurching due to using the Symmetric airfoil on the main wing; symmetric airfoils are best when used for control surfaces like the elevator or rudder, but are not great for main wings due to their tendency to very suddenly stall (Like is happening here). They also have the worst performance when presented with angle of attack. The lurching can be avoided by using a semi-symmetric or flat bottom airfoil.
    .
By the way, this is pretty good for a beginner build! I can definitely say my beginning airplanes didn't have functional gear doors or actually modeled airfoils.

@GotovoYaTut I haven't downloaded any of the challenge entries yet (to give a fair comparison when testing them), but I'll be sure to give you some tips once I try this out!

@HuskyDynamics01 Did I do a good job? Can you please tell me why he's lurching to the left, and why he's talking like that? I seem to have done everything well in weight distribution and aerodynamics ((( the idea of mechanization of the flaps did not justify itself, they simply do not work, or rather they work very poorly.
