That other MiG-23...
This is one of those planes that didn't make it. The Ye-2A was the 1955 evolution of Mikoyan's Ye-2 protoype (1954) for a swept-wing interceptor. It already had the designation MiG-23 reserved for it, and got the NATO reporting name "Faceplate"... but along came the MiG-21, the Ye-2A was abandoned and the MiG-23 designation went to another plane. Ah well...
The build
It's not really a Ye-2A, but rather what a production version might have been. It would possibly have worked quite nicely as a (much faster) replacement for the MiG-19, probably slightly more "multirole" than the delta-winged MiG-21. It might even have done moderately well in the Vietnam conflict, hence its VPAF-livery.
Controls
Nothing too exciting, I'm afraid. AG1 for air brakes, AG8 to toggle lights. All other controls are standard. The cockpit view is just for show -don't pay too much attention to the lamps and switches.
Armament
The Ye-2A prototype had NR-30 cannons, but only a single hardpoint for either a fuel tank, FAB-250 bomb or rocket launcher. Had the plane actually reached production though, it would probably have been equipped with a bit more hardware.
In this case, I gave it some weaponry of the era; two NR-30 cannons, a pair of Kaliningrad K-5 air-to-air missiles, and two ORO-57K rocket launchers for some mayhem on the ground. That's about as high-tech as things got in those days...

@Parehare you don't need the mod. Plane works fine without it, the cockpit will just look somewhat less fancy.
