Fixed-wing gunship
A fixed-wing gunship based off of a cargo plane I downloaded a few months ago and inspired by the many variants of the AC-130.
Features/Weapons:
2× XML-modded miniguns (M-61A1 Vulcan 20mm rotary cannons)
1× 30mm automatic cannon (Mk. 44 Bushmaster II)
1× 105mm cannon (M-102)
2× cameras: Camera 1 is for the miniguns, Cam2 is for the cannons.
Controls:
Group 1: activates the 30mm cannon
Group 2: brings the 105mm cannon online
VTOL (left slider): cannons' traverse. VTOL up traverses them forward, VTOL down traverses them back.
Trim: cannon elevation angle. Trim up to aim up, trim down to aim down.
Notes:
- Like the AC-130, the FWGS is meant to attack targets that are to its left. For best results, use a left-hand pylon turn.
- The 105mm cannon will destroy the bridges on Krakabloa, assuming you aim it just right.
- Both cannons share the same traverse and elevation angles: 10 degrees of traverse forward and back, 15 degrees up and down.
- The 30mm cannon is fully automatic at 0.1 seconds per round, which means 10 rounds per second or 600 rounds per minute.
- The two forward miniguns are not just bigger—they fire 75 rounds per second (4500 rounds per minute) and do a lot more damage. However, they are fixed, meaning you can't change their elevation or traverse.
- There is no control surface trim, which means that you basically can't let the plane fly itself. The only thing that trim controls is your cannons' elevation.
- Use the three flight instruments when using either of the two cameras to avoid crashing. You're pretty much IFR at that point.
