The Arbus 126 was a larger, more capable, and more long-range aircraft to succeed the 106, produced from 1976 to 1982.
Discussions about a plane to replace the 106 actually began in 1967, but disagreements dekayed the decision until 1974. Unnatural for Arbus, they designed the successor completely from scratch. This allowed it to have new specs such as:
• A larger wingspan.
• 4 propellers.
• A longer cabin, with 34 passengers.
• More fuel for long-haul journeys.
This made the plane more profitable to use, but more expensive to run and produce. Due to this, less airlines wanted to use them, but the ones that did ordered more. This made a hit, until they were forced to stop production by the government of Yeager due to fears that the market would be disrupted.Airlines that used them were Krakabloa Airways, Oversea Aeroroads, Yeegair, and Wright Airlines, mainly due to their low trust of the Arbus 106.
In total, 560 aircraft were produced and 156 are still in use today, with a further 138 in static display. A majority of Arbus 126s have been scrapped.
