Consolidated Fleet Model 7 - 1931Pearson Air Museum, Vancouver, WA, USANovember 2, 2007From on-site signage: “This 1931 Fleet was originally purchased by the local ChineseBenevolent Association to train pilots after the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. Thefollowing year it was purchased by Leah Hing, the first Chinese-American woman to takeflight training. Hing later sold the Fleet to Lacy & Edward R. Murrow after they damagedthe plane while landing. In 1941 this Fleet underwent an extensive overhaul. The Kinner K-5motor was replaced with the larger B-5, a larger fin and rudder were installed, and otherchanges were made to convert the Fleet from a Model 2 to a Model 7.
