My second upload of 2025 is also a 3 year old build
Description
The Shenyang J-6 is a version of the Soviet Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-19 fighter jet built by the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation of The People's Republic of China. It is a singe-seat twin-engined mid-winged fighter jet with a 55-degrees wing sweep, in shape similar to the preceding MiG-15 and MiG-17 without the cruciform tail. Powered by two Wopen WP-6 turbofans, it can reach speeds up to Mach 1.45 and an altitude of 17,900m/58,700ft, with a combat radius of 640km utilizing two drop tanks. The aircraft posses an excellent sustained turn rate performance along with a good thrust-to-weight ratio making it formidable in dogfights, engaging enemy aircraft with its 30mm NR-30 autocannons or with its short range infrared missiles such as the PL-2/5 and the American AiM-9 Sidewinder, it can also carry air-to-ground armaments on four underwing hardpoints, including iron bombs and unguided rockets. The J-6 saw service in many nations throughout its service life, participating in the Vietnam War, Indo-Pakistani War, and Iran-Iraq War, six countries still operate the type to this day.
North Korea acquired the J-6 (designated as the F-6) from China in the late 1960s, of the variant F-6C day fighter. More than a hundred fighters equipped the 1st and 3rd Air Combat Divisions, stationed in Kaech'on, Onchon, and Koksan, with maintenance facilities inside the nation capable of overhauling airframes and engines independently. The aircraft have been indegeneously modified to enhance their air-to-ground and air-to-air capabilities, mainly by installing four under-fuselage hardpoints for bomb carriage and missile launch rails just beside the wing fence to mount R-3S short range IR missiles for self defense. It is believed that in a modern conflict, the F-6 would support the KPA as a fighter-bomber aircraft, carrying out interdiction and close air support against enemy positions and vehicles, its obsolescence made up by sheer numbers concentrated on a single point of attack, in hopes of overwhelming the target's air defense and destroying it by saturation. With about 97 airframes in operation today, the Shenyang J-6 will serve as one of North Korea's ground attack asset for the foreseeable future.
In This SimplePlanes Version,
I made this build by overhauling my old F-6A that I've posted back in 2022, I rebuilt the nose, cockpit, tail, and wings of the aircraft, the only parts unchanged are the mid-fuselage and cockpit area, I also redid the engines so that it feels more realistic and don't accelerate to Mach 1 in like 34 miliseconds, but enough of that, let's get into the features.
Btw, the rocket launcher is 4 years old 💀
Features
• Realistic paint scheme - North Korean white bare metal scheme with its associated markings and insignia, the roundel is made custom using fuselage parts to avoid the performance toll of label-based roundels.
• Semi-realistic performance - Mainly on the speed and 'feel' of the aircraft, probably not at all accurate.
• Semi-accurate cockpit - The build has a detailed cockpit based on the F-6's with some 'artistic liberties' to save parts.
• Semi-realistic weaponry - The guns have correct RPM and buffed damage values, explosion scale of the FAB-250 is set to the approximate amount of the real life counterpart, and the R-3S is now fire-and-forget with simulated rear aspect and a lock range of about 1.75km.
• New details - Landing gear doors, that's it really, something that don't typically appear on my builds.

There's a teaser in this build, can you guess for what?
@plane634 man I’m stumped
@pulmoscorpus The missiles would only activate if you're behind the target
@Erionh Oh there's also something else besides that text
how do i enable the missiles?
@plane634 the bird of light gotta mean something
