RJ Damselfly GRII 3.7
introduction
After ww2 a role requirement was found for a close air support aircraft utilising the new fangled jet engine in a turboprop configuration. This aircraft was to be used to provide ground troops with air support in the form of rockets, bombs or cannon fire.
Although the aircraft was originally designed in 1946 it entered service and was still in use by the time the Vietnam War came around.
controls
AG1 = turn on engines, 5% power
AG2 = open/close cockpit
AG3 = centreline drop tank
AG5 = fold wings for storage.
notes
Heavily inspired by aircraft such as the cessna dragonfly, ov10 bronco etc, I tried to create the post ww2 look by utilising a ww2 type nose, cockpit and wing. I chose a twin boom layout to allow for a protected pusher layout where the pusher avoids prop strikes by being close to the main wheels when viewing from the side and the fin bottom tips hit the floor before the prop. Colour scheme is pure wild weasel Vietnam style.
No extra pictures yet as I don't have access to my pc at present (I uploaded this last week as unlisted)
