Model of the solar system

57.1k bjac0  8.3 years ago

I made this cause i was bored, its very simplistic, mostly due to it being easier to make and easier on the eyes, has all of the cellestial bodies that are considered by the scientific community as planets, unfortunatly no moons, but again its simplistic, any ways, enjoy. Controls: Vtol up to start orbits.

    @AeroMobilFlyingCar cause the sun is actually white, (WARNING: SCIENCE AHEAD!) So i will explain why we see the sun as yellow, explain why the sky is blue, aswell as why rainbows are formed and explain why sunsets are so beautiful! White light is actualy all visible light, which can be scattered using a prism, such as an atmosphere or water droplets scattered through-out the sky(That would be a rainbow), earths atmosphere is what makes the sky, the sky scatters blue and indigo light more than red, orange, yellow, and green light, but the light that's absorbed, not scattered, ends up hitting the surface and we see the sun are yellow(sun colour and sky colour), then during a sunset, the sun is a more shallow angle than when its high in the sky, so longer wave lengths of light scatter(sun set colours), also, next time the sun is setting, look around the horizon and you may notice the green seperating the blue sky from the red/yellow sunset. And jeez that was long, good thing I know so much about light.

    @Rainman i didn't say those atributes would make it a planet, but those atributes make it more likeable :3

    Despite those atributes, it does not qualify to be a planet due to having not cleared its orbit. It was only considered a planet because of science's ignorance to many more dwarf planets yet to be discovered. @bjac0

    @Rainman well, either way, pluto has a thin atmosphere(but it's detectable), multiple moons, and if it's biggest moon charon were to be a bit bigger, it could have been a binary system, and it was once considered to be a planet.

    No it has an irregular orbit, it still hasn't cleared its orbit entirely and its 1/6 the size earths moon. If Pluto were to be considered a planet many other bodies would have to be elevated to the same status. Pluto was discovered before most other bodies of similar size and structure. It was only a planet because it wasn't known that there were so many more. @PlanesOfOld

    :) u made me feel a whole lot better. Idk why it cannot be a planet, it has moons and an atmosphere! @bjac0

    @WEAPONSMITH lol, what a coincidence.
    @PlanesOfOld i would have added pluto, but it would have been really tricky due to pluto's varying colours, and also that the scientific community says it's not a planet, but, let's be honest, we know its not a planet, its a SUPER AWSOME ALMOST A BINARY PLANET planet.
    @TheRicks2 thanks!
