The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is one of the best-known American bombers, even allies, of the Second World War and especially the one that dropped the biggest tonnage of bombs throughout the conflict. Designed in the second half of the 1930s, the B-17 was built to 12,677 copies and served on all theaters of operation until 1945.
