F-42B Valkyrie
Re-upload with slight tweaks to the airbrake, new cameras, and a new paint scheme for the fictional 42nd Fighter Squadron, the Flying Tigers, based out of Nellis AFB.
The Astra F-42B is an entirely new platform, but a definte upgrade over the F-40D, building off of the basics of the F-40's design to create a newer, faster, and more maneuverable fighter while also packing a bigger punch.
The Valkyrie comes equipped with:
1x M61 Vulcan Cannon
6× Aim-150 Enforcer Air-to-Air missiles
64x Chaff charges
32x Flare charges
Groups
AG1: Dogfight Mode (Activates M61 and Flare charges)
AG2: BVR Mode (Activates Aim-150s and bay doors)
AG5: Wing Flaps
AG6: Formation Lights
AG7: Strobe and Nav Lights
AG8: Landing and Beacon Lights
VTOL Down: Airbrake
Notes: This jet is designed to have semi-realistic performance. It rotates at roughly 170 knots with flaps and lands at 140. It rates at 7.5 Gs on the deck with a full gas. You will struggle to get the jet over 12Gs for the most part.
The airbrake is designed to not only add drag but add some back pressure to the pitch, so when it is active the aircraft will pitch up.
There is no cockpit on the aircraft. I may upload a new version with one if I have the time.
