Trojan Attack Helicopter
"The town of Feneos would have been ours in a day if it wasn't for those damned helicopters and their missiles. I find it shameful that our heathen opponents can create such a devastating weapon through a simple modification, which we have no counter to."
-Strategos Bernice, 22nd "Kratos" Armored Division
A converted Trojan Transport Helicopter, it proved especially lethal to Olympian armor during the Third Olympian War. This machine is an example of the Trojan Transport Helicopter as modified by the 3rd Army Air Wing. Its first action involved five Trojan Attack Helicopters scouting the Styx River, where they encountered an armored column of the elite 22nd "Kratos" Armored Division, equipped with the latest Artemis and Erinyes tanks, preparing for an assault against Marian positions across the river. There, they engaged the tanks with guided missiles.
Of the 6 Artemis and 12 Erinyes tanks in the column, all were disabled or destroyed within 5 minutes. One helicopter was forced down behind friendly lines due to mechanical failure unrelated to combat. The most widely-accepted reason for this debacle was the lack of any mobile anti-aircraft weaponry and over-reliance on the air force to provide air cover in the event of war. However, high command did not believe these reports, and would initially credit this to Pummelers with anti-tank missiles, reasoning that the Marian Army would not commit its valuable helicopters to risky reconnaissance missions.
As a result, the remainder of the 22nd "Kratos" Armored Division attempted to support the 12th and 14th Divisions in an attack against the embattled 2nd Army Division in the town of Feneos, who was the only Marian force west of the River Styx. Due to the surprise of the attack, both units were in extremely close proximity to each other in a built-up urban area, making Pummeler Attack strikes impractical even with guided missiles. Again, Trojan Attack Helicopters from the 3rd Army Air Wing swooped down with precise anti-tank missiles, allowing precision strikes to be carried out in densely-populated areas. They also engaged supply trucks supporting the operation with rockets. In total, twenty tanks were destroyed or disabled, along with thirty-two trucks. Helicopters also disabled a Olympian Army river gunboat Hades supporting the push into Feneos. However, heavy anti-aircraft gunfire and crewmembers with MANPADS prevented the helicopters from pressing the attack. Pummeler Attack aircraft finished the job with unguided rockets, bringing her down with thirty-two of her forty-eight crew, including a prominent celebrity. The Olympians were outraged and scared, who now had a mysterious bogeyman to fight, an opponent which could strike from the sky and disappear into the ground.
While most of the tanks would return to service in the coming months, the efficiency and ease which the helicopters conducted their attacks forced them to revise strategy and delay their counteroffensive by three months, allowing Marian forces to regain the initiative in the Styx Campaign.
