Simple Type-4 Chi-to
The Type 4 Chi-To was a medium tank developed by the Empire of Japan during World War II. It was part of Japan's efforts to strengthen its armored forces, which had lagged behind in firepower and protection compared to Allied tanks like the American Sherman. Below is an explanation, history, description, and the advantages and disadvantages of this tank:
Development History
Development of the Type 4 Chi-To began in 1943 when Japan realized the weaknesses of their armored fleet in confronting heavier Allied tanks equipped with stronger guns. The Type 97 Chi-Ha medium tank, widely used by Japan, was no longer sufficient against Sherman tanks or the Soviet T-34.
The Type 4 Chi-To was one of the most advanced medium tanks developed by Japan at the time, but resource shortages, logistical issues, and Japan's imminent defeat by 1945 severely limited its production. Only a few prototypes were completed before the war ended, and these tanks never saw combat.
Technical Description
Weight: 30 tons
Length: 6.73 meters
Width: 2.87 meters
Height: 2.87 meters
Main armament: 75 mm Type 5 gun
Engine: Mitsubishi Type 4 Diesel, 300 hp
Maximum speed: 45 km/h on roads
Armor thickness: 12-75 mm
This tank had a more modern design compared to its predecessors. The 75 mm Type 5 gun was designed to penetrate the thick armor of Allied tanks, while its thicker armor offered better protection for its crew. In terms of design, the Type 4 Chi-To had a larger and heavier profile than other Japanese tanks, making it more resilient against enemy fire.
Advantages
Firepower: The 75 mm Type 5 gun was one of the most powerful weapons in the Japanese tank arsenal at the time, capable of penetrating the thick armor of Sherman tanks.
Protection: With armor thickness up to 75 mm, this tank was far more resistant to anti-tank fire compared to other Japanese medium tanks.
Speed: Despite being larger and heavier, the tank could reach speeds of up to 45 km/h on roads, which was fast for a medium tank of its era.
Disadvantages
Limited Production: Only a few units were produced, and the tank never entered full operational service on the battlefield.
Resource Shortages: By the time the tank was completed, Japan was experiencing severe material shortages, and its industrial infrastructure had largely been destroyed by Allied attacks.
Late Design: Although advanced, the Type 4 Chi-To’s development came too late in the war. By the time it was ready, the Allies had gained a significant technological advantage, as well as air and naval superiority that hampered the mobilization of this tank.
Unproven in Combat: Since it was never used in battle, the tank’s effectiveness under real combat conditions remained untested.
In summary, the Type 4 Chi-To was one of Japan's attempts to produce a tank comparable to Allied tanks, but due to limitations and the collapse of Japan's military industry toward the end of World War II, the tank never reached its full potential on the battlefield.

Nice editing bro
@Mahoots Maybe he meant the entire M3 that was dropped. I don't understand why, but whatever.
@Mahoots Yeah, you're right. I hope I have a High device perform
@Kampf and which M3 do you mean? the M3, the M3, or the M3? Might even go as far as to mention the M3A1, M3A3, M3A1, and M3A3.
@Cadvalto i meant that the image isnt exactly photorealistic, and it's pretty easy to tell it's not real, but good job on the effects since if the game was higher quality it'd definitely be more convincing as a real photo
Pfft, even to consider the M3 as a medium class tank.
@Mahoots Bro even they can say M4A1 As a heavy tank :)
i have no words on what i should say about that @Cadvalto
@Cadvalto no way they will
@Dragoranos I'm worried the Moderator will think it's a real photo.
