In December 1945 an XB-42 set a new transcontinental speed record from Long Beach, California to Washington, D.C. In 5 hours 17 minutes (434 mph). The XB-42's six bladed rear propellers were powered by two Allison V-12 engines, each with 1,800 hp. Wingspan 70 feet, length 53 feet, designed to carry four 2,000 lb bombs. Max speed 430+ MPH. This stock part model comes very close to actual performance.
