McDonnell Douglas FA-18C Hornet (SPAMRAAM) - Updated
Another modification of EngineerOtaku's work. This the F/A-18 Hornet with the famous SPAMRAAM loadout.
Premise:
After the recent departure of EngineerOtaku from the SimplePlanes community, I would try to reupload some of his creations with new updates, like cockpits and other modifications to honor him and his contributions to this community. I would also upload some low part links for mobile and low-end PC users if the performance is a bit crap.
This is the definitive variant of the F/A-18 Hornet based on EngineerOtaku's F/A-18A Hornet (which was recently deleted) with new modifications to the design.
New Features Includes:
1. My very own and newly updated AIM-120C AMRAAMs and AIM-9X Sidewinders.
2. US Navy aircraft markings and roundels.
3. A hydraulic piston for raising the main cockpit view when the landing gears are down, which also folds up the catapult launch bar.
4. A Catapult connection bar for accurate carrier take-offs aboard USS Beast.
5. A new cockpit design (not as accurate as it seems).
6. Added Formation Lights.
7. A new somewhat good looking air brake at the tail and the rudder also has an aerodynamic deflection feature.
8. New flaps design and lead-edge drooping flaps...
Main Controls and Activation Groups:
A & D = Ailerons
W & S = Elevators
Q & E = Rudder
AG1 = Arrestor Hook
AG2 = Folding Wings
AG3 = Air Brake
AG4 = Jettison Fuel Tanks
AG6 = Drop Those Expensive AIM-120 AMRAAMs
VTOL = Flaps
Trim = For Trim Controls
Landing Gear = Gears, Cockpit Raiser and Catapult Launch Bar Fold Up
Brake = Aerodynamic Deflection Rudders
Note:
1. Do not release the wing-mounted AMRAAMs when pitching up or they will collide with the horizontal stabilizers and blow up the plane.
2. After spawning in, the catapult launch bar is lowered for catapult launches on USS Beast and retracted with the nose gear once you take off, but during landings, it's a bit doozy. The bar will destroy the plane once you land on any surface and still looking into Funky Tree formulas to make it work.
