The midlands toploader is an unusual propellor plane because it has exceptionally raised propellors for additional propellor size. The forward wheel stops its nose tearing on the floor when it tips ahead. The toploader eventually got used by the military despite being developed for civilians, as the high propellors gave additional soace on the wings for equipment and weapons.

3,690 LjSpikeThe plane can pivot? If that were true then 1 front wheel and 2 back wheels wouldn't pivot either. It requires a wheel either end of the CoM because the non turning one gives drag, meaning instead of drifting turning happens. Put 4 wheels on a car and make them all turn, no car turning. Only drifting.9.2 years ago

25.2k kikasshes@LjSpike The gear closest to the CoM acts as a pivot, if there is gear both in the front and rear the plane cannot pivot on the 'pivot gear'9.2 years ago

3,690 LjSpike@kikasshes what is the problem with 2 front and 1 back wheel may I ask?9.2 years ago

25.2k kikasshesThis aircraft both looks amazing (especially the wing nacelles) and flies very good. I still don't like your landing gear placement though.9.2 years ago
