PRR T1
Breif History
The Pennsylvania Railroad T1 locomotive is a streamlined, Duplex locomotive introduced in 1942, and designed and streamlined By Raymond Loewe. 52 original T1s have been built and were all scrapped after 1953 when PRR transitioned to Diesel locomotives for freight and express travel. But, as of 2014, the T1 Trust organization is rebuilding a T1 (Numbered 5550.)
Problem with the T1, and duplex drive systems was violent wheelslipping when starting and at speed. Another facter to that was not proper training and throttle controlling. A good example was the S1 (6-4-4-6) Built by PRR a decade before the T1 was in service.
Opinions on this build
This is most likely the 2nd T1 on the site, with this one having proper animated rods and much lower part count. This T1 is numbered 5500, as it was a pre production with side ports and skirts.
