Mahoraga is a Shikigami, an animal conjured using cursed energy, Mahoraga specifically can be summoned by a user of the ten shadows technique such as the deuteragonist of Jujustu Kaisen, Megumi Fushiguro.

The Ten Shadows Technique is the Treasured hereditary technique of the Zenin Clan, and consists of 10 shadows: Divine Dogs, Rabbits, Toads, Snake, Elephant, Nue (bird), Ox, Deer, Bull and Mahoraga. Each of which is based off of an animal and inherits certain abilities usually to do with the animal. Notably the Ten Shadows Technique also has Totality clause, such that if a Shikigami dies (excluding Rabbits and Toads) their strength is inherited by the remaining of the Shikigami. However to attain each shadow, the User must first subjugate each animal, meaning to best them in combat. However the user can summon each animal as many times as needed to subjugate them, notably the user can also drag other people into the subjugation ritual, this does void the result, should the Shikigami be beaten, however it can be used as a final gambit, or a trump card, akin to a suicide pact dragging someone down with you.

Mahoraga represents Humanity, and is the final of the Ten Shadows, it has never been subjugated before in recorded history. This is primarily due to its durability and strength, more notably, because of its ability, Adaptation, Mahoraga has the ability to adapt to anything and everything, its like the ultimate throw in rock paper scissors. For example Mahoraga adapted to Sukuna's slices, Water, Heavy weight, so on so forth, this adaptation can be carried out through many means. SPOILERS FOR CHAPTERS 200 ONWARDS for example, just outright ignoring the effects of an attack, ignoring the attractive force of Gojo's blue for example, or it may manifest physically, like gills for said water.

Mahoraga was subjugated and used by Sukuna after he transferred Vessel, he needed Mahoraga to adapt to Gojo's infinity, a nigh impenetrable barrier, which even when breached is still guarded by the Strongest Sorcerer of the Modern Era. Mahoraga's Notable adaptation was World Cutting slash, showing a slash that cut through space such that anything between point A and B is cut, bypassing Gojo's infinity. After this, he is consumed in the Maximum output Hollow purple and destroyed, with none of his effects notably being passed down to the rest of the Shikigami in their showings afterwards.

Lore aside,

Mahoraga was difficult to build, and honestly, I'm still not happy with the torso-leg ratio/sizes. specifically the front of the torso. But I based it off of certain images and since Mahoraga's form changes so drastically in its fights.... yeah.

I nearly fully documented the process of creating Mahoraga, in the fuselage. But mainly focussed on walker Mechanisms for obvious reasons.

last note, some posing mode functions are restricted, I did this because extra joints makes makes Mahoraga walk weird, because his body is too springy and it makes the walk slower and less efficient. For example some axis of rotation about the hip joint. This is easily accessed by removing the rotator connections to the internal gold fuselage pieces, There should be one in the centre of the hips, and note you can also add a rotator for the lower spine/waist, but I had to leave it out as it messed with walking physics/gyroscopes working.
