A-76A
The A-76 is the mainstay frontline fighter of F.C.A.F, being a favorite among pilots for it’s great speed, maneuverability, and excellent armament. The fighter was designed after the Galdia’s new (at the time) D-4 delta wing fighter proved the the A-68’s and A-70’s could no longer fufill an air supremacy role well. Although the A-73 preformed well, It could not hold a candle compared to it’s 4th generation counterparts in Askovian and Galdian service, so in 1976 a new frontline fighter was to be commissioned by the F.C.A.F, the design specifications called for a large airframe able to sustain an armament of: one 20mm rotary cannon, 4x M22 heatseeking missiles, 4 to 8x M30 radar guided missiles, and a new GRAD-4 radar set. The prototype was tested in 1978 at Luminas Islands airbase, it was well liked by it’s test pilots and passed all tests with flying colors. The aircraft was shown to the public the next year in the international airshow in the Armonian capital of Armon, when the aircraft was shown the public was enthralled with the aircraft, but many observers in the militaries of Askovia and Galdia were worried about it’s capabilities against their current aircraft, the Galdians responded by adding canards and various other upgrades to their D-4 fighters. But the Askovian’s were particularly alarmed as it totally outmatched their current aircraft in every way, causing them to put their next gen fighter project to the highest priority. The aircraft was put into service in 1981 and still remains in service today, although it is in the process of getting replaced by it’s 5th gen successor. (Engines are by TatsuTheOtaku)
