The JB-8 Jotunn was an early Nordenvokian jet-powered attack bomber. Developed in a need for an Attacker aircraft that can also double as a medium bomber during the Hon-Kain Crisis, the JB-8's origin began in 1944, originally planned to follow suit of Dieswen's WS-290 "Weltkugelbomber with a combination of propeller and jet engines, shortly into the design, a newer, tri-jet engine concept was proposed, showing a much greater potential for the JB series Attacker.
After the JB-8's introduction into Nordenvok's military, the aircraft began to take shape as the nations more efficent aircraft in terms of its role, however, it's bomber role was rather quickly snuffed out when its predecesor the JB-9 Narwhal seen service in 1957 and the Hildisvíni the following year. Despite the JB-8's bombing role quickly becoming obsolete, the Attack Bomber proved vital for quick response bombing in the disputed territories along the Hon-Kain/ Nordenvok borders. Armed with an impressive payload of 32 ATAR rockets, 4x45mm Cannons, and 8 500 LBs bombs on its standard load, the Jotunn was also known as the "Crusader" by Iosian allies. The JB-8 remained in service long after the JB-9 until it was replaced as a close range attacker in 1981 by the A-24 Razorback, 15 examples remain of the JB-8 Jotunn in various air museums in Nordenvok, 3 in Iosia, and only one civilian owned model, Out of the 19 survivors, only three are currently in flyable condition.
