My second entry to the Advanced Jet Trainer Challenge.

This is another fictional type - with the following back story.

In parallel to the procurement of the F-35, the JASDF also recognises a need for an advanced trainer to prepare aircrews for operation of a modern 5th generation type.

The winner of the subsequent tendering process is the;

Fuji Heavy Industries T-6 Shinai (Bamboo sword)

The current crop of Fuji T-3 kai and Kawasaki T-5 trainers, though capable training tools in their own right, have been judged insufficient in providing preparation for (in particular) the high degree of maneuverability possessed by the F-35.

To this end, it was decided early on in the design brief that such a new trainer should possess "extremely high levels of agility limited only by the maximim G force sustainable by the aircrew".

To achieve this specification, Fuji Heavy Industries developed a unique solution. the Three Dimensional Agility Enhancing Assembly (3DAEA).
This is a complex engine nozzle system that can be locked in place, thus "turning off" the thrust vectoring ability of the aircraft. When activated, it provides three dimensional (pitch, roll and yaw) thrust vectoring.

With the 3DAEA assembly locked in place, the Shinai (the bamboo sword used in the practicing of Kendo) is still an agile bird, but with the 3DAEA activated, the Shinai becomes as manuverable as the latest 5th generation fighters, capable of post stall maneuvering and exceptional rates of turn.

The Aircraft is operated as follows;

Flight is very simple, just throttle up and fly. She rotates at around 170mph clean, 230mph loaded (as default).

- Action Group 1 activates the 3DAEA. Students are forbidden to activate this assembly below 15.000ft.
- Action Group 2 activates the spin recovery / brake chute (you might need this)
- Action Group 3 activates the nav beacon / lights
- Action Group 4 drops the centre line stores
- Action Group 5 drops the outer wing stores
- Action Group 6 drops the mid wing stores
- Action Group 7 drops the inner wing stores

NOTE! Make sure that all controls are centred and neutral before deactivating the 3DAEA. Unintended flight characteristics can arise from activating / deactivating the 3DAEA whilst maneuvering.

Good luck.
